10 Best Electric Scooters With Seats (And What To Know Before Buying)

Electric scooters with seats are incredibly practical. The seat adds a whole new dimension of usefulness to the whole concept. The person who first decided to add a seat on an electric scooter, is as much of a genius as the person who first decided to put cheese on a hamburger.

With an electric scooter with a seat, you get all the benefits of scooters, but you don’t have to stand the whole time. What’s not to love?

Best electric scooters with seats

Let’s get right down to it – these are the best electric scooters with seats for adults currently available on the market.

1. NanRobot D5+ – best overall, best range, best climb angle

The following review may be a little skewed.

I believe that the NanRobot D5+ is one of the best electric scooters there is, especially in its price range. It is very likely that I will buy this scooter myself in the near future. So I may be biased, but I think it’s justified.

For the price of $1380, you will get a scooter that will be crazy powerful. The NanRobot D5+ can go as fast as 40 mph / 64 kmh and with a range of 50 mi / 80 km on a single charge.

What’s more, its climbing range is unmatched, the best out of all the scooters with seats. It can climb slopes as steep as 40 degrees.

The NanRobot D5+ is simply hard to beat in its price range. I truly believe it is the best middle price range scooter at the moment.

It has been described as the nerd’s scooter. That’s because all its parts are very easy to modify and customize.

The seat is simply one of the many options that come along with this scooter. It’s a great choice for those that prefer comfort and stability. The scooter comes with the seat included, and you can add or remove it as you need.

NanRobot D5+ specifications:

  • top speed: 64 km/h
  • range: 80 km
  • power: 2000 W (peak)
  • battery: 1352 Wh, 52 V
  • climb angle: 40
  • weight: 30 kg
  • weight limit: 150 kg
  • IP rating: IP53

2. Hiboy S2 – best value

The Hiboy S2 is an inexpensive scooter, but it offers a lot of features and reliability. For a great price, you get some pretty decent performance features. Most notably, a top speed of 18 mph / 30 kmh and a range of 17 mi / 27 km.

The climb angle is only 9 degrees, which means that the Hiboy S2 will only handle the mildest slopes. That’s pretty good for a scooter this light, since the Hiboy S2 only weighs 29 lbs / 13 kg. It can carry a maximum weight of 265 lbs / 120 kg.

This is a very solid option for a budget scooter with the option to have a seat as well. The seat is included in the price, and you can add it and remove it as you need to. All in all, this is probably the best value option from the electric scooters with seats category.

You can check out this cool scooter on Amazon, or read the full review of it here.

Hiboy S2 specifications:

  • top speed: 30 km/h
  • range: 27 km
  • power: 350 W (peak)
  • battery: 270 Wh, 36 V
  • climb angle: 9 degrees
  • weight: 13 kg
  • weight limit: 120 kg

3. Uberscoot 1600W – best value alternative

front diagonal view of a black Uberscoot 1600W with blue details and a seat on a white background

While not exactly a budget-priced scooter, the Uberscoot 1600W provides excellent value for money.

It is the most powerful budget electric scooter in the world right now. It’s even kind of strange that this model only has a range of 19 kilometers and a top speed of 39 km/h. Its motor can reach peak power levels of 1600 Watts (hence the name). It should be capable of much more.

This scooter is not one that you can easily carry around. It weighs 53 kilograms. The good news is, it is capable of carrying 120 kilograms on its deck. That makes it well suited for heavy adults that need a scooter as well.

It comes with the option to have a seat installed. That is the preferred way of usage for the majority of people.

For a relatively inexpensive price, you will get a very solid scooter. Its great mass, coupled with the seat, will provide you with a very comfortable, shake-free ride. The scooters ships with the seat, which is easily removable.

Where to buy the Uberscoot 1600W from?

Worldwide
The first place to look for if you want the Uberscoot 1600W, no matter where you are, would be Amazon. However, the scooter has been out of stock there for quite a while now.

US
In the US, you may have some luck finding the Uberscoot 1600W in the official Urbanscooters store. Sadly, it seems that the scooter has been out of stock there for a while too.

UK, EU, Worldwide
In the UK, and most EU countries, you can try the Evoscooters UK store. They also say they ship worldwide. But, again, it seems that the Uberscoot 1600W has been out of stock in there as well.

4. Razor E300S – best budget electric scooter with a seat

Razor E300S

The Razor E300S is the seated version of the now legendary Razor E300. This model is one of the most popular, best selling electric scooters of all time.

The Razor E300S can reach top speeds of 15 mph / 24 kmh, and has a range of 10 mi / 16 km on a single battery charge.

For the price of around $300, it is the cheapest electric scooter with a seat. If you are on a very tight budget, this is the option for you. Despite the low price, you will still be getting a great time-tested scooter. Razor produces inexpensive scooters, but they are one of the best brands when it comes to that price category, so you will still be in safe hands.

The scooter comes with the seat included, but the seat is not removable.

5. Razor EcoSmart Metro – best electric scooter with a seat and a trunk

The Razor EcoSmart Metro may be even better than the Razor E300S, at least in some regards. This is one of the final iterations of the mega-popular Razor brand.

The Razor EcoSmart Metro has probably sold a few dozen thousand units at least.

It is indeed a very smart scooter. It comes with a comfortable (but non-removable) seat and even a basket attached to the rear of the seat. All of that makes it a very practical scooter. Just looking at the Razor EcoSmart reminds me of being a responsible adult (even though Razor is a brand predominantly for children’s electric scooters).

Besides the truly practical and smart features, the Razor EcoSmart has some pretty decent performance feat as well. A solid top speed of 30 km/h, and a range of 19 kilometers. It’s powered by a 500 Watt peak power, chain-driven motor.

The Razor EcoSmart Metro is an inexpensive scooter, clearly in the budget price category. It is one of the classic bestselling scooters of all time, which makes it a very safe choice. You can take a look at my detailed Razor EcoSmart Metro review if you want to find out more.

6. Joyor F5+ – great range, great value

side view of a black Joyor F5+ electric scooter
Joyor F5+

The great thing about buying a scooter from a brand on the rise is – you can get an amazing scooter for a very good price.

Joyor is a Spanish brand that I expect to get vastly more popular. They have a wide offer of all kinds of scooters. Their models are often the best-performing ones in their respective price ranges, as they focus on value a lot.

Until Joyor gets more popular, and possibly raise their prices, we will continue to get great scooters. Often for possibly half what they’re worth.

The Joyor F5+ model is another great offer from the brand.

For the price of $794, you will get a scooter with a top speed of 22 mph / 35 kmh, and a brilliant range of 37 mi / 60 km. That kind of range is rarely seen in this price range.

With a climb rate of 15 degrees and a 265 lbs / 120 kg weight limit, it is all that you can ask for from an electric scooter.

The seat can be installed or removed as needed. I wasn’t able to obtain 100% correct information on whether the scooter comes with the seat included, but judging from the pictures I think it doesn’t. The scooter has a double rear suspension, which will make sure you have a comfortable ride either way.

Joyor F5+ specifications:

  • top speed: 35 km/h
  • range: 60 km
  • power: 350 W (peak)
  • battery: 648 Wh, 36 V
  • climb angle: 15 degrees
  • weight: 15 kg
  • weight limit: 120 kg

7. Techlife L5T – best waterproof

rear diagonal view of a black Techlife L5T electric scooter with red details and two mirrors leaning on its stand
Techlife L5T

Every scooter manufacturer out there can learn a thing or two from the Polish brand Techlife. They build very fast, very powerful scooters, and yet price them as affordably as possible.

For the price of $1045, this scooter is one of the best models around the $1000 price mark. With a top speed of 22 mph / 35 kmh and a range of 25 mi / 40 km, it is everything that you may ever need from a powerful commuting scooter.

As you may know, Poland can have some pretty hard winters. The brand has accommodated that market, so they build great winter scooters. The Techlife L5T is one of the few electric scooters in the world that are able to withstand even the harshest winter conditions. Its IP rating of IP35 gives it the highest protection against water ingress out of all the scooters with a seat.

It has deeply patterned inflatable tires, wide enough to handle the most uneven and wet surfaces. It also comes equipped with shock absorbers.

The seat is included in the price, and it can be added or removed as you need.

There’s not much more you might ask for a comfortable ride.

Techlife L5T specifications:

  • top speed: 35 km/h
  • range: 40 km
  • power: 350 W (peak)
  • battery: 468 Wh, 36 V
  • climb angle: 25 degrees
  • weight: 30 kg
  • weight limit: 120 kg
  • IP rating: IP35

8. Scrooser – best for heavy adults, best design and look

side view of a black Scrooser electric scooter with big wheels and a seat
Scrooser

The Scrooser is one of the most elegant electric scooters in the world. I often describe it as the Batcycle of electric scooters. It just seems like something that Batman himself would ride.

Since the Scrooser can be considered a bike, or a fat tire scooter, or whatever the kids are calling them these days, it means that it will come with a seat that will not be removable.

With an unrivaled weight limit of 330 lbs / 150 kg, it is the only true option for heavier adults. That is made possible by its brilliant design, offering a seat that makes it look more like a motorcycle than an electric scooter.

The brand is from Germany. Since their primary target market is Germany itself, the scooter comes limited and prepared for the German traffic laws.

Meaning, out of the box, the scooter will not be able to go faster than 16 mph / 25 kmh. That is plenty a speed, though for some people it may not seem fast enough.

However, the Scrooser makes that up with an excellent range of 34 mi / 55 km on a single charge.

Priced at $3233, the Scrooser is definitely a high-end scooter, reserved for only the biggest scooter lovers. But for them, it is a real hoot.

If you are after a high-quality scooter and money is no issue to you, I warmly recommend you get the Scrooser.

Scrooser specifications:

  • top speed: 25 km/h
  • range: 55 km
  • power: 500 W (peak)
  • battery: 720 Wh, 36 V
  • weight: 56 kg
  • weight limit: 150 kg

9. SEEV-800 – best design and look

front diagonal view of a SEEV-800 electric scooterwith shiny red fenders and a seat
SEEV-800

If you are after a beautiful scooter with a seat, the SEEV-800 is the choice for you. Just looking at this thing, the amazing red color with black base, the beautiful lines, it makes me want to grab it, start it and ride off on it into the sunset.

This is one of those models that look more like an alien futuristic vehicle than your typical scooter. For all the design lovers and sci-fi fans, this scooter is the right choice.

It comes with very solid performance abilities. Chiefly, a top speed of 20 mph / 32 kmh, a range of 35 mi / 56 km on a single charge, and a great climbing angle of 25 degrees. Typical for a fat tire scooter, the seat is not removable.

The price of $1839 is a price that many satisfied users have chosen to pay without blinking an eye, and never looking back.

SEEV-800 specifications:

  • top speed: 32 km/h
  • range: 56 km
  • power: 800 W (peak)
  • battery: 720 Wh, 60 V
  • climb angle: 25 degrees
  • weight: 55 kg
  • weight limit: 100 kg

10. Inokim Light – best high-end

side view of a light blue Inokim Light electric scooter with black details with a seat
Inokim Light

The Inokim brand has seen a recent surge in popularity, and it has been very well deserved. Inokim offers a great selection of middle to high priced electric scooters, with a strong focus on quality and craftsmanship.

The Inokim Light is one of their cheaper models. It comes with the option to have a seat installed.

Weighing only 29 lbs / 13 kg, it is a great lightweight scooter. It’s very easily portable and fitting everywhere, from car trunks to elevators.

For a medium-high price, you will get a scooter that will go as fast as 16 mph / 25 kmh, with a range of more than 14 mi / 22 km on a single charge. Check out this bad boy on Amazon, or see the Inokim Light 2 review to find out more about the advanced version.

Inokim Light specifications:

  • top speed: 25 km/h
  • range: 22 km
  • power: 350 W (peak)
  • battery: 374 Wh, 36 V
  • climb angle: 15 degrees
  • weight: 13 kg
  • weight limit: 100 kg
  • IP rating: IPX4

Frequently asked questions about electric scooters with seats

These are some of the common questions people have had about scooters with a seat.

Are seats on electric scooters removable?

For most electric scooters that have seats, the seats will be removable. It will usually be a matter of a few screws and bolts.

There are some models though, in which the seat is not removable. Scooters like the Scrooser or the SEEV-800 are designed to be used while seated the whole time. Removing the seat from them will be very unfeasible and will defeat the purpose of the scooter.

A good rule of thumb is, if the scooter kind of reminds you of a motorcycle, its seat will not be removable.

What are the advantages of electric scooters with seats?

The biggest advantage of an electric scooter with a seat (or the ability to have one installed), is that you can ride while seated (duh, right?).

This can make your rides much more comfortable, especially if you are tired or too lazy to ride while standing.

Scooters with seats shine on longer, boring roads. Think about your typical large strip of road you need to cover. There’s not a lot for you to do, except steer and watch the road. Sitting down while doing it will be less tiring. Your feet and your back will thank you as well.

And the great thing about most electric scooters with seats – if you don’t like the seat, you can easily remove it. This is not true for all scooters with seats, but it does apply to most of them.

What are the disadvantages of electric scooters with seats?

To me, it feels like controlling the scooter is harder while seated. For some reason, I’ve always felt like turning and balancing were easier while standing.

Not everyone might agree with this, but a lot of people would.

Also, if you are riding while seated, you will not have a chance to ride the scooter exactly as the manual suggests. Leaning forward when accelerating or climbing, or leaning backward while braking, will be a lot harder to do while seating.

Can I add a seat on any electric scooter?

If a scooter doesn’t have an easily installable seat, it may be unwise to try and add a custom seat yourself. The design and ergonomics of the scooter need to be different to handle a seat. Still, many people decide to try and add a seat anyway, and for many of them, it seems to work fine.

Does the Xiaomi M365 Pro have a seat?

Out of the box, the Xiaomi M365 and the Xiaomi M365 Pro don’t come with a seat. The scooter’s deck does not have the necessary framework to support installing a seat. However, since the Xiaomi M365 Pro is the world’s most popular scooter, there have been many customizations, including a seat custom-made for it. The seat will not work seamlessly with the scooter, but it may get the job done.

Can electric scooters with seats also have baskets or trunks?

Many electric scooters can a basket or a trunk. Those will be the most useful and practical scooter models. A seat or a trunk can usually be installed as an additional accessory on the stem of the scooter. However, if the scooter has a seat, a great option is installing the basket on the seat bar, right above the rear wheel.

Check the full post on the best electric scooters with a seat and a trunk to see if these models could work better for you.

Should I get an electric scooter with a seat?

Electric scooters with seats are not exactly the norm. While there are some great scooters that also have a seat, most of the time your primary choice will likely not have a seat.

This means, you will probably get an electric scooter with a seat only if you need one.

The main reason why you might get an electric scooter with a seat would be if you prefer comfort above all else.

As we saw, riding while seated comes with a few small disadvantages. While they are mostly tolerable, there is no reason to endure them unless you really need to ride while seated.

So get an electric scooter with a seat if you enjoy riding while seated. Or you have some long and boring parts of your commute. Any situation in which you would rather be sitting, really.

I love electric scooters, so I decided to make a blog about them. I like doing a lot of research on various models and brands, looking for great value and performance, both through data and experience.
