I may have mentioned several times on this blog that I’m a value shopper primarily. I’ve always tried to be economical, and value per dollar plays a big role in my buying decisions.
This is especially true for electric scooters.
I love researching scooters’ quality levels and features, and see how they compare to their prices. I believe that’s a great way to find out which scooters are truly best, especially compared to similarly priced scooters.
Throughout all the research, I’ve come to several interesting answers and insights about the prices and price categories of scooters.
Electric scooter prices
Electric scooter prices range from $149 to $7400. The average price of an electric scooter is $1194. The average budget scooter (under $400) costs $310. The average super-expensive scooter (over $2500) costs $3738.

As with any other product, the higher price you pay, the better your odds are of getting a high-quality product. Still, there are a lot of great options in every price category.
We will go over every price category, show all the models with their prices, see what they have in common, and which are some great value picks.
Budget electric scooters (under $400)

Defining what price range is budget can be problematic.
I chose the $400 mark because it is a price high enough to include a lot of choices, while still being a very low price for an electric scooter.
There are 43 electric scooters for adults that cost under $400. As we already mentioned, their average price is $309.83.

What this scooter lacks is climbing power. It can only climb angles of 15 degrees.
Super-expensive electric scooters (over $2500)
If people consider spending at least $2500 on an electric scooter, then they would probably spend $4000, $6000, or maybe even more than $7000.
That’s why the super-expensive category will include every scooter above $2500.
It will be kind of the most unfair, uneven category, since the most expensive models will be double, or even triple the price of the cheapest ones.
But we have to draw the line somewhere. And we can’t have too many categories and still provide useful grouping.
With 20 models in this category, the average price is $3738.
